First Aid at Work 3 Days Course
In this course you will learn how to respond, act or treat a person with a wide range of injuries from accidents or: choking, cardiac arrest, minor injuries and illnesses a person can encounter at work.
This training is more suitable for organisations where First Aid training is essential or for individuals who are likely to encounter incidents in places such as gyms, recreational centres or schools.
Course covers the following:
Learn what to do in the case of
- Unresponsive person
- Choking
- Bleeding
- Suffering from shock
- Burns
- Dizzy & faint
- Poisoned
- Head injury
- Hypothermia or heat exhaustion
- Injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries)
- Seizure
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Asthma attack
- Severe allergic reaction
- Diabetic emergency
The course also includes information on:
- Assessing a casualty
- Monitoring a casualty
- Where to get help
- Electrical incidents
- Accident recording and reporting
- The control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)
Course Timings 9.00-17.00
Method of delivery:
This will be delivered in a classroom setting, with the focus on a more practical hands-on approach, which enables learners develop skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation.
The learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answer sessions, quizzes and engaging activities designed to coach and support them.
